Spring 2025 Auditions

The Princeton Pianists Ensemble is opening up auditons for the spring semester!

Auditions for Spring 2025 will be held on Saturday, February 8 from 10 AM to 2 PM at Woolworth 106.

To audition, please prepare two selections:

SOLO: Anything for solo piano that showcases your musical and technical abilities (3-5 minutes).

This doesn't have to be classical music - you can do whatever you like (e.g. jazz improvisation). Feel free to bring an excerpt from a longer piece. Memorization is not required.

DUET: Either the Primo part or the Secondo part from one of the following piano duets:

Debussy: Petite suite: IV. Ballet: Allegro giusto (section shown in score)

Primo

Secondo

Mozart: Sonata for Piano 4 hands in C major, K.521, Allegro (play until first repeat sign)

Primo

Secondo

Please listen to the pieces and choose a duet part that you will feel comfortable with and that will showcase your ability best. No pressure to choose the harder part! We are expecting that you will be familiar with your chosen part by the time of the audition, and we will be looking for musicality and adherence to the composer's wishes (tempo, articulation, character).

If you would like to audition, please fill out this form here and sign up through the calendar below. You may also elect to have a mock audition with a member through the form. Please note if you are interested in a mock, you must indicate your preference as soon as possible (preferably by Sat., Feb. 1).
